Overview of Curriculum
Core:
ENGLISH : 5 periods per week
MATHEMATICS : 5 periods per week
SCIENCE : 3 periods per week
HUMANITIES:
Geography and History : 3 periods per week (a semester each)
Consider trying a VCE in Year 10: Students wishing to study a Year 11 subject (VCE units 1&2) as part of their Year 10 program may do so by electing to opt out of our elective block. i.e. Students undertaking a VCE unit will replace an elective block and gateways Projects, or another package of five lessons.
Electives:
Part A: Academic Electives
Students will be required to select two (2) units (one each semester) from a group of academic electives comprising units in the fields of History, Geography, Economics and LOTE (Language other than English). This is additional to the core Geography and core History units. The Language Other Than English for 2009 will be Japanese – 2nd year level.
Part B: Art / Health & PE / Technology Electives
Students MUST choose SEVEN (7) elective units. Students should choose a balanced program with a minimum of one unit from each of the following Groups per year (9 and 10).
