Camps, Sports & Excursions Fund
The Camps, Sports & Excursion Fund (CSEF) assists families with the costs of school excursions, camps and sporting activities. The annual CSEF amount is $225 for secondary school students. The CSEF payment cannot be used towards voluntary school charges, books, stationery, school uniforms, music lessons, or formals/graduations.
Only families holding a valid means-tested concession card or temporary foster parents are eligible to apply for funding assistance.
The two criteria for funding assistance are:
Criteria 1 – On the first day of term one or the first day of term two the parent or legal guardian of a student must:
be an eligible beneficiary of either a Veterans Affairs Gold Card, a Centrelink Health Care Card or a Pensioner Concession Card
OR they must be a temporary foster parent
OR the student aged 16 years or older holds a valid concession card (such as a Youth Allowance Health Care Card)
AND the parent or legal guardian must submit an application by the due date
Criteria 2 – The student must be of school age and attend a Victorian school
Special consideration is given to:
Families on a bridging visa, a temporary protection visa, in community detention or are asylum seeker families
Students in out of home care
Students in statutory kinship care
Applications for 2024 must be submitted by the Thursday 28th June 2024.
Note: Applications are required to be submitted each school year together with a copy of a valid Centrelink Health Care Card or a Pensioner Concession Card.
